Shinjukuku Town is built by a small editorial collective working between Tokyo, Lisbon, and Brooklyn. We respond to every message that arrives — though if you write at 3am JST, expect silence until the trains start running again.
For contributor submissions, include two writing samples and a short pitch. Photo essays should arrive as a single PDF with captions. We commission in advance; please do not send completed features unsolicited.

Do you accept freelance story pitches?
Yes. Send a 200-word pitch, two clips, and a realistic timeline. We commission quarterly and pay on publication. Unsolicited drafts are not reviewed.
Can I submit photos of Shinjuku nightlife?
We accept photo essays on a rolling basis. Submit as a PDF with captions, location, and consent notes. Street photography is welcome; private clubs require permission.
How do I report an error in a guide?
Email the article URL and the specific detail. We verify within 48 hours and publish a correction note at the top of the page. Accuracy matters to us deeply.
Will you promote my restaurant or bar?
We never run paid editorial. If your place fits a story we are already reporting, we may visit. We do not guarantee coverage and do not accept compensation for reviews.
